In just a matter of days, we will be welcoming students back to Epiphany for the 2021-2022 school year. Our first day of school on Monday, August 23rd will be a half day with dismissal at 11:30 a.m.
This year, individual schools have been given increased latitude in developing COVID mitigation plans that meet the needs of their school community. The school administration has taken guidance from the local health district, the Virginia Department of Health, the CDC and the Catholic Diocese of Arlington to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff. After experiencing a positive successful year last year, similar safety measures will be in place, but with more flexibility.
Please see the links to our full 2021-2022 School Year Opening Plan in English and Spanish. Please review this plan in detail. Particularly important is the student health screening at home before going to school. Keeping sick children home is the most effective way to prevent the spread of disease.
We enjoy partnering with our families to provide rewarding, outstanding learning opportunities for our students this year. Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to us, their health and safety continues to be of utmost importance to us. We look forward to another successful in-person school year.
Austin Poole, Principal
A State Health Commissioner Order of Public Health Emergency was issued on August 12, 2021 that requires all students, staff and visitors to wear masks while indoors at K-12 public and private schools. Epiphany is required by law to follow all federal and state health orders. Based on this Order Epiphany will require all students, staff and visitors to wear masks while indoors on school property effective August 13, 2021. This mask policy will remain in effect until the CDC guidelines for K-12 schools changes or this Order is amended or rescinded by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
