Registration for the 2009/2010 School Year
Families that are currently enrolled with FACTS Tuition Management that are registered for next received their FACTS confirmation of tuition and payment schedule. This should be signed and returned to the school office, especially if families have changes in the number of payments, bank account information or if they choose to enroll in the Peace of Mind Plan. This is a confirmation only, so unless there are any changes, your contract will be renewed with the figures on that letter.
If you were not enrolled with FACTS last year, and wish to make payments, please go to the Epiphany website (www.epiphanycatholicschool.org) and follow the link on the home page to 'E-Cashier'. This is a secure site for enrollment. Once you have entered your information, we will complete the enrollment by entering the tuition amount. THIS IS ONLY FOR FAMILIES THAT ARE NOT CURRENTLY REGISTERED WITH FACTS. If in doubt, contact the office.
If you intend to have your child attend Epiphany next year, we urge you to get your application in as soon as possible, as this is essential for budgeting for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to keep all of our students here at Epiphany, and we look forward to working with anyone that has not yet returned their application. Please call Mrs. Terry or stop by to discuss any questions you may have.
History Day-Wednesday, May 6th
Again this year, students in grades 4-8 will spend a full day immersed in history. This year's location will be Montpelier, home of President James Madison. Lunch will be provided and students are to wear jeans and a white polo shirt with an Epiphany logo. They will also need a mug and a hand cloth/towel. Mrs. Terry has included with today's paperwork a letter with more details.
Great things are happening at Epiphany!
Saturday was the Diocesan Science Fair. We are proud to announce that Amber Boutchyard (7th grade) won Second Place in the Behavior Science category. Scott Johnston received an Honorable Mention in the Physics category. And all of our students had a great time and have great memories of being part of an event that encompassed all of the schools in our Diocese. Great Job!
Mark your calendars for May 14th. The Development Committee will hold a Wine and Cheese Social @ 7:00 p.m. (adults) and they present the work they have been doing in our community to get technology in the classrooms. Please plan to attend ~ it is a great presentation.
Illness at Epiphany
We have had a touch of a stomach virus going around this week. But the Springtime pollen is really taking it's toll! There are great over the counter medications for children, and urge you to speak with the pharmacist should your child need something to make them more comfortable. If OTC meds do not do the trick, please contact your pediatrician.
And news of Swine Flu is nothing to sneeze at, but a little common sense goes a long way! Frequent handwashing/sanitizing with an alcohol based gel product is your best defense, and avoid being within three feet of anyone that is not feeling well. For those exhibiting flu like symptoms, go to the doctor. Even though there is no vaccine, there is medication on the market to combat influenza if caught early. Most importantly, don't panic. We have included with this e-mail some information form the CDC, as well as a letter from the Office of Catholic Schools and Mrs. Terry.
Grandparents Day-May 8, 2009
- Grandparent's Day here at Epiphany is NEXT FRIDAY! We look forward to this day each year, when we have some very special people visiting our school, joining us for Mass and Brunch and stopping in to the classrooms to see what their grandchildren are doing. We end the day with a special musical program.
- Paperwork with detailed information about Grandparent's Day is has been given to each student. Parents, please let us know as soon as possible if a special guest will be joining us here at Epiphany. You may e-mail the office (preferred) or send back the tear off slip.
- By responding, we will ensure that we have a name tag for each guest and an accurate count for refreshments. Thank you for your attention to this.
We thank you so much for your participation. Our students are very proud to see their family members visit their class and see them in the slide show.
5K Race and Fun Run
100% Participation is our goal for this years 5K and Fun Run.
Registration is now open!!! Please register online at http://www.racetimingunlimited.com/
It is only one week away! You can either register and pay online or print the registration from the site and bring it to school with your check made payable to EPIPHANY PTO. Registration for the 5K is $25. The 1 mile fun run is available to all ages, $10 for 12 and under, $20 for 13 and older. Strollers will not be allowed on the 5K course because it is run on the street, so please sign up for the 1 mile if you would like to push your strollers. We are hoping for 100% school participation for this event. The t-shirt alone are GREAT!
Volunteer positions are also available for race day. We will need water station volunteers, start and finish line volunteers, set-up, clean-up, etc. Please contact Bridget Scarbrough or Jen Thompson if you are interested. We have a solicitation form available for anyone who might be able to help get donations of money or goods for race day. Please shoot me an email if you would like a form to provide to a local business. See you at the start line!

Hot Lunch and Parent Helpers
Hot lunch order forms are included with today's mail. Please be sure to turn these in by Thursday, May 7th. Orders received late will be returned to you.
There is a great need of help in the lunchroom, especially on Tuesday and Thursday. Our thanks to Linda Ingerski, Mary Candella and Cecile Andrix for their help. It would be great if a couple of other families could give a day or two, especially if you have not yet contributed any volunteer time. We ask all of our families to volunteer 20 hours during the school year. Please call Mrs. Pories at 547-2272. Thank you in advance for your consideration
